Farming

Farming: Not Grinding.

Farms are a great way to sink a ton of your cp into a semi active money making system

What Do I Need To Consider Before Farming?

  • Your profits will be significantly lower if you cannot buy the seeds off the market, which is most of the time.
  • Selling farm items on the market can be difficult.
  • If you are planning on using your farms for cooking material, too many farms will give you too many materials to use and no way to get rid of them.

Lets Take A Look At Each Item’s Profit:

Notes:

  • 1 cp was added per farm to support your worker managing pruning.
  • High-Quality prices are subject to the marketplace tax so you are recieving the marketplace value times 0.845.

    4218*0.845=3564.2

  • Top-Quality prices are assumed to be traded so their value with vary depending on your situation. For this example I will be using the Trent to Valencia City distance bonus (1.99), the master 10 bargain bonus (1.35) and the master 2 desert buff (1.5).

    (((15240*1.99*1.5*1.35)-2719(BSP))/10)=5869

  • Giving the value of top quality products is difficult without coupling it with trading. If you use the above modifiers you are looking to get about 5869 silver per top quality sunflower. I am often reluctant to couple lifeskills together but in reality, you are never going to sell top quality sunflowers on the market. So its only value is with trading.

  • High-Quality sunflowers have been subject to the marketplace fee because your primary goal when selling high quality products is to sell them on the marketplace.

  • From the above charts you can see the math is simple, if you have another idea for your farms, run it through those formulas to determine what will bring you the most silver.

  • Future updates will include the value of turning farming from a semi active to an active lifeskill by removing the worker and pruning yourself.

  • Breeding also gives “Fruit of X” which, depending on the X, often has a high value.

Grow Times

Whatever plant you are growing you want to make sure it is in it’s ideal temperature range. You can find this out by opening up your farm information at your farm and looking at the temperature, as shown below:

  • If your plants are outside of their ideal temperature range (the bolded part of the red line) then they will have longer grow times.
  • Water is basically irrelevant. Water is linked the moisture. If moisture reaches 0 then your crop yield will decrease. I have been farming since I started playing and moisture has never reached 0 and I never water my farms (perhaps if you farm in the desert this would be an issue).
  • Humidity is also not very important for worker farming. If your crops are out of their ideal humidity range, then they will get blight. But your workers will handle this, so the only downside to being outside the humidity range is you will use more beer.
  • Lori_Sc has collected most of the grow times at two popular growing temperatures, you can see the results below:

What Should I Take Away From These Charts?

  • Coupling farming with trading is a very easy way to increase your daily income.
  • High-Quality products do sell. Just be patient and do not grow too many, people need them for cooking.
  • Buying Seeds returns more profit. If you see seeds on the market, buy them!
